4. Contrast

The M590K's display shows a far more even distribution of contrast than either the Eurocom D900K or the Dell M1710. This evenness is especially noticeable at higher resolution levels in games like Black and White and F.E.A.R. [Mean: 582 (excellent contrast ratio), Minimum: 518, Maximum: 635, Range: 117]

Contrast tends to peak toward the corners of the Eurocom D900K F-Bomb's display. This is not noticeable when most applications are viewed, though it is minimally visible in games run at higher resolutions. [Mean: 429 (very good contrast ratio), Minimum: 373, Maximum: 503, Range: 130]

Contrast distribution on the Dell XPS M1710's display is similar to brightness distribution with a peak just before contrast lessens at the top edge. As with the D900K the Dell's unevenness of contrast distribution is barely noticeable at higher resolutions. [Mean: 287 (good contrast ratio), Minimum: 210, Maximum: 414, Range: 204]
