5. Still One Leg At A Time - Only Cooler

Though we sometimes forget to, even the nerdiest among us usually wears pants. But until recently, the only option for carrying much more than a wallet in your pants was military-style cargo pants - but post 9/11, those may attract unwanted attention. Or one could turn to carpenter jeans, but those are just soooo 1996. Fortunately, ScotteVest hasn't restricted themselves to just jackets and vests.

These pants could even make Bill Gates look cool. The sign behind me has Kenneth Cole asking, "What's your fashion statement?" Well?

ScotteVest has decided to infuse the timeless khaki with its forward-thinking designs. Small magnets keep the layered pockets closed and eliminate the need for annoying snaps or noisy hook & loop fastener (a sound that is okay in a crowd coming from a jacket, but not from pants!) They also feature a draw string at the waist and are non-stick-coated.

The eleven, yes eleven, pockets the pants has are so roomy that you can keep an amazing amount of equipment in your trousers. With the hanging pockets design, I walked around with my cell phone, Pocket PC, and the OQO all in the front pockets with no one noticing.

Don't even think of using these pants for shoplifting!

While pondering the storage capacity of the pants it also occurred to me that I would have never before considered putting my Pocket PC or Nintendo DS in my pants. I was too paranoid that I would either look too excited for the occasion or I would somehow crunch them when I sat down or squatted to tie my shoes. But now you can - and not having to wear such geeky devices on your belt may instantly give you a few bonus points in the attractiveness department.
