Palm announced today that its $100 Centro smartphone has now sold more than one million units in ten countries. The phone was unveiled in September of 2007 and became available in October.
Palm said that it sees more consumers making the shift from traditional mobile phones to smartphones. Smartphones had a market share of about 11% in 2007.
When compared to other Palm smartphones, Centro is reaching almost double the number of women, more than double the number of customers under age 35, and nearly three times as many customers with a household income of less than $75,000, the manufacturer said.
