Point-by-point Comparison
Much more of a "compact" than a "reflex", the Coolpix 8700 is a camera that pleases and annoys at the same time. It is strongly built, beautifully finished and delivers good quality images, but it can be slow and users may not find it too easy to navigate. It can be tamed, but you do need to learn how. You can tell it is basically an enhanced 5700, and some of the functions could have done with a more in-depth overhaul. Still, the new Coolpix is very attractive and Nikon fans will need no convincing.
