Swimsuit Models Take the Wheel in Next Need For Speed
This one we will file under "why did this take so long?"
EA and Sports Illustrated today announced a marketing partnership: The Need for Speed and Swimsuit franchises will hook up. In EA's words, the collaboration will bring together the "worlds of fashion, video games, cars and beauty."
2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover models Irina Shayk and Chrissy Teigen will get starring roles in the upcoming Need for Speed release The Run, which will feature a race from San Francisco to New York. EA said that Shayk and Teigen will race against the protagonist Jack.
I’m sure that the millions of Swimsuit fans will be excited to see Irina and Chrissy behind the wheel and millions more will be introduced to franchise in a fun and unexpected way,” said Frank Wall, Vice President and Publisher of Sports Illustrated, in a prepared statement.
Somehow we tend to believe that there will not be an insignificant number of players who will be especially interested in the "unexpected way".
The Run will hit stores on November 15 for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, and PC. What does Sports Illustrated get out of this one, besides the publication of the name, you ask? Simple, there will be a bundle offer to acquire new subscribers. The bundle includes a "The Making of Need for Speed The Run" DVD, the video game (for Xbox 360 and PS3 only) for $49.95, as well as a Sports Illustrated subscription offer. New subscribers will receive a six month subscription to SI.

Meh. Hope the game is good. Definitely doesn't make a difference to me if I get to drive a woman.

I don't know about you but I would prefer to drive a woman.
I don't know about you but I would prefer to drive a woman.
It's so piontles.
"Need for Speed - Grocery Shopping!" (I know... I'm a horrible sexist pig)
Seen a video on this game, looks stupid... Really dissapointed. Miss the old Need for speed underground 1 & 2.
Is this in 3D Vision? Just Kidding, I buy a racing game to race cars and most Need for Speed games don't seem to understand this. More tracks > stupid ghetto-style body kit.
I used to LOVE the NFS series, but I haven't actually 'liked' a NFS title since Pro Street.
Most Wanted was great because COPS returned.
Carbon was great because you raced with a 'crew' and the new 'canyon' races.
Pro Street was great because it offered more realistic drag racing.
Everything since Pro Street, barring the ability to be a cop in the new Hot Pursuit, was pretty much crap.
If 'The Run' is anything like the past four (or five if you count NITRO) games, you'll be able to find it in the $20 bin within 3 to 4 months after release.
my god, EA will do ANYTHING to distract players from their horrible driving physics!! I MEAN ANYTHING! Might as well add porn at this point. Thank god for rF2.
wtf, the graphics look horrendus. I like the graphics in Hot Pursuit, thank you very much. And I get my girl action from my girl, not a game.
I just don't get it. The "girls" are in a car right so you really dont see them durring game play? wtf is EA thinking. This game must really suck to have to do this.
NFS Undercarbon. I don't want to feel like a woman when I am driving a car lol
this kind of thing seems like something that would work well in a demolition derby...
DX11 support or it's a waste....the graphics look mediocre at best
NFS is just the same thing over and over again...its getting somewhat tiresome.
Desperation. Pathetic ...

Seems the suits will try anything EXCEPT improving the gameplay/fun ...
Now if they added car damage ... like in my floppy DOS game Indianapolis500, where I win the race by creating a mountanous roadblock made up of all the other cheating AI cars that are obviously faster than mine ...
>>2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover models Irina Shayk and Chrissy Teigen will race against the protagonist Jack.
Ending Spoiler:
Jack shows them who's THE MAN!
Says - Go make me a sandwich!
Well, we'll just have to wait and try it out to see if the soundtrack is as great and any improvements in the visuals....
Although I would love this game to be really taxing for the new rigs, like trying to set a standard after Crysis. Would be good.
You can't actually see the driver in the game anyway, you see the back and roof of the car.
...
For all we know a 3 headed alien could be driving, surely only the cut-scenes will show swimsuit modles and Need For Speed had plenty of NPC fap material already
So what is the point?
Wow, yet another NFS that lowers it standards by jiggling t*ts and a$$ and pop culture references in YO dumb face.
Pretty sad, I think I will just buy the SI swimsuit edition and be done with it. Keep the game NFS.
What a load of crap, talk about cheap and desprate from EA,
if u want to see sexy ladies u know where to go, if u play a need for speed game you play it to race and prey that its actually going to be a good raceing game with excellent physics, realistic cars, and a great story,
Need For Speed Needs Updateing to current level physics and beyond with direct x 11 and 10 support and bring back underground style customised cars, like real life,
This game is gonna flop even before its released thats how cheap EA and the need for speed series has become
get it right EA otherwise need for speed = dead series
NFS used to be about driving exotic cars on exotic tracks that was beautiful in its own might, sometimes racers will stop to check out the scenery. All the NFS series was good up till Porsche Unleased and then it went down hill with a bunch of stupid racing wannabes who thinks a car that sounds like a lawn mower is cool.
need for speed = dead series
There is a standing bet with the Need For Speed crew, Madden series, FIFA and the guys who make Final Fantasy to see who can flog the most dead horse sequels
Ohh boy, too bad I'm a Forza boy though. lol
Miss the old Need for speed underground 1 & 2.
please ea remake nfs:u2 for windows 7 with updated graphics engine to take advantage of new hardware. dont just make more crap nfs games, i personally have not played any nfs games since carbon. from that point on nfs sucked major big balls.

Looks like you haven't played the oldie Porsche Unleashed. When you drive you see the driver inside the car. The driver isn't a static figure, it animates and even can see it shifting gears.
Also the license plates are customized according to your nametag. In HS beginning drivers wear normal clothes as they before top racers they dress up like the stig!
