Logitech's Wireless Music System for PC can be called the most flexible transmission system within Logitech's portfolio, because it allows for broadcasting digital audio from any Windows PC to a tiny Music Receiver box. The box carries standard RCA and 3.5 mm stereo mini jacks, so you can connect it to your home stereo, attach a headset, a powered speaker system, or anything else that uses either one of these connectors.
This receiver box is exactly the same part that Logitech bundles with the Wireless Music System for iPod, and it can be purchased seperately. Thanks to this modular product strategy, it is pretty easy to position several receiver boxes in your house in order to play your tunes on every output device.

The signal is transmitted by the Logitech USB music transmitter module that basically looks like a USB memory stick with a fold-out antenna. After plugging the stick into an USB port, Windows will prompt you to install the drivers that can be found on the software CD. Logitech also provides an small desktop stand for the USB transmitter, which functions as a USB extension cable.
You might not think this part is necessary, until you realize that plugging in two bulky USB sticks into adjacent USB ports is hardly possible. The desktop stand includes a cable terminated with a normal, thin USB plug to eliminate the battle for port real estate. The stand also helps increase signal range by placing the USB transmitter at an elevated and clear position, instead of behind a PC case.

Logitech specs a signal range of up to 330 feet and we were able to maintain a connection over roughly 250 feet. In any case, this Bluetooth-based system should be powerful enough to penetrate all the walls of an apartment and cover small-to-medium size houses as well.
