2. Classifying The OQO Model 01+

If you've been around MobilityGuru for a while, you know we like to classify mobile computers using a system that tells you something about their size and weight. Here's the classification table we use.

Type of Mobile Computer Weight (Pounds) with standard battery Size (Width & Depth Inches)
Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) Less than 2.5 Fits in standard size pocket
Ultra Lightweight Laptop 2.5 or less Does not fit in standard size pocket
Lightweight Laptop 2.6 to 4 NA
Standard Laptop 4.1 to 6.5 or less 13 x 11
Notebook Over 6.5 Over 13 x 11

As noted above the OQO Model 01+ weighs 14 ounces or .92 lb (418 g) and is 4.9" x .9" x 3.4" (12.5 cm x 2.3 cm x 8.4 cm). It fits in my pants pockets and I was even able to stuff it into a stretchable tee shirt pocket. It didn't quite fit in a dress shirt pocket. That's two out of three, so I declare by the authority invested in me by no one in particular that the Model 01+ fits in a pocket and is, thus, a PDA.

Eyeing the mobile computer classification table above, by size and weight the OQO is a PDA. The photo below certainly supports this conclusion. Fujitsu's very small 2.21 lb (1000 g) P1510D tablet PC looks like a hulking notebook computer under the Model 01+. The OQO doesn't give up much in size to Dell's Axim X50v PDA, though its weigh is over twice that of the.39 lb (177 g) Axim.

You state that the OQO is a PDA, but match it up with laptops. You have stated that the tests can't be run with any accuracy, but use the results anyway. The processors are not just .2Ghz different as you state, but 20%, furthermore the crusoe 1Ghz is the equivalent in theoretical MOPS on a PIII 800Mhz.
You really need to hone your reviewing and testing skills if you ever expect to show an unbiased review. I do hope that your other reviews are much better than this one.
