7. Asus W5F, Continued

When it comes to wireless connections, this business notebook includes an integrated Bluetooth module as well as an Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG WLAN module. The WLAN module may be switched on or off using a slider switch above the keys on the keyboard deck.

The third USB port is on the back of the case, along with the power port and an S-Video output.

There is little to complain about when it comes to the keyboard. Key press and touch are good. Whether you find the key sizes adequate or not largely depends on how big your fingers are and on personal taste. However, we found that this unit's keyboard sets the standard for light ultra-portable PCs.

The 83-key keyboard is almost perfect.

Those who do not use a mouse will find that the edgeless touchpad always keeps the cursor under control. The cursor buttons aren't terribly attractive, but they do feature precise switch points, so that users can tell immediately when the right or left mouse button engages.

In Europe, Asus includes both a three- and a six-cell battery with this laptop. Using the high-capacity model, battery life of up to six hours is possible. Unfortunately, the six-cell high-capacity battery is an optional, extra-cost add-on in North America.
