Battery Lifetime: MobileMark 2005

The MobileMark 2005 benchmarks test the performance of mobile computers running on battery power. There are four battery lifetime tests in this suite: office productivity, search and read, DVD playback and wireless Web-browsing. Every test uses real applications often in multitasking environments and begins running when a fully-charged battery is disconnected from the power supply until the battery is completely discharged. Test results are written to a log file at 10-second intervals until the test machine shuts down. MobileMark 2005 also calculates two performance values during the office productivity test: a total performance value and the average response time for completion of all tasks during the test. The total performance value is based on the average response time and is compared to a reference system that rates a score of 100.

The following diagrams show the MobileMark 2005 test results for both systems.
