This Rock-filled iPhone 4 Costs $8,000,000 to Buy
It's all about the blang blang!
So you bought that $20,000 diamond-encrusted iPhone 4 from Stuart Hughes back in July and you thought you had the most extravagant, expensive, sparkliest iPhone 4 ever made. Well, think again, because your phone is officially old hat. Indeed, why would Stuart Hughes' latest customers settle for a $20,000 iPhone when they could have him custom make them one that's worth eight million dollars?
Stuart Hughes recently unveiled a very special iPhone 4. He was commissioned to make two of them for customers in Australia, and they each cost a very pretty penny. Hughes is no stranger to blinged out gadgets but even he says this iPhone 4, with its $6,000,000 home button, was a challenge.
"It was a fantastic challenge and I am really pleased with the end result – the phones look superb. Phones are so popular at the moment and this is the ultimate design for one. It was a very exciting project," said Hughes, adding, "The diamonds are rare and difficult to source, stones like that usually have a very long history."
Though he makes a living selling extravagance, the ridiculousness of an $8,000,000 phone isn't lost on Hughes.
"It is amazing that someone is prepared to spend £5 million on a phone," Small World quotes him as saying. "I doubt it will get used because it is worth so much money. It would be a disaster if it was ever lost."
Each of the phones sports more than 500 flawless cut diamonds amounting to a total of 100 carats, and features two interchangeable diamonds that fit onto the home key. These are a single cut 7.4-carat pink diamond and a rare 8-carat single cut flawless diamond. These two diamonds alone are worth over $6.4 million. The back of the phone is plated in rose gold and the Apple logo is filled-in with 53 diamonds. The phones come with box made from a 7-kilogram block of pink Granite with a Nubuck top grain leather lining.

LOL and you probably STILL need a case for it so your calls don't drop.
Stupid. 8M to blow on an iphone? I'd rather buy a small town in a remote area
I'm starting to think they post these news only to have fun with people's aggressive comments. =P
And it looks like you can still kill the signal on this phone... I certainly hope Mr. Hughes put an anti-bridging sticker or some other clear coat on that gap before starting the process!
that 8 million dollars could do a lot more good towards helping underdeveloped nations. even if you're going to buy something nice just for yourself, why on diamonds and why on a phone you'll just replace in 2 yrs?
Ugh, why spend so much on bling bling iPhone 4? I could buy two Bugatti Veyron Super Sports and still have enough money to burn 300,000 gallons of gas at 268 MPH.
I'm not homophobic but I must say...that is the gayest iPhone I've ever seen.
Wow, if I were a thief I wouldn't even go for the whole phone, just for the Home Button diamonds. They are removable after all.
Chinese died in the making of the phone, Africans died in the mining of the diamonds.
For 8 million dollars, that phone better predict the stock market, create/successfully run/sell startup companies, and create life.
... why?

How come every one of these super expensive product articles always have one of these posts? How do you know these people don't already give huge amounts of money to charities and to help underdeveloped nations? Just cause they choose to spend a large sum on themselves does not mean they don't give out money to help others already. It's their choice to use their money as they see fit and this 16 mil was going to a pair of phones.

It's very therapeutic.
Cheers!
If its just covered in rocks then its no different then any other Iphone4 to me.
I find new Asus motherboards and a Subway sandwich more appealing then rocks and rare metals.
no
When will people learn that just because u encase something in diamonds or gold or platinum it doesn't make it any better.... YOUR STILL GONNA HOLD IT WRONG!!!!!
This is just absurd. If this things sells then it goes to show that the rich have truly become much richer than what is healthy for the world.
It is 8 million, but the diamonds won't get outdated, and the owner will probably have them removed and placed into something else in a couple years.
Wait... does those dimanonds help make the phone work better?!
A.) You're still holding it wrong.
B.) You'll have to spend even more than the iPhone's original cost.
C.) It won't protect your phone in any way.
D.) You'll be mugged by the first person who sees you carrying it.
E.) Enjoy?
Good riddance what next? A solid Gold iPod, no wait a macpro with a solid osmium shell.

you are either really rich and defending your own ridiculous purchases or really brainwashed. Spending that muchy ona phone is disgusting it doesnt matter what you did outside of it.
this is so awesome, sales are bound to be in the tens!
I'm pretty sure whoever buys this is going to hell.
Too bad the glass isn't as strong as the diamonds!
i hope the back end doesn't break
Just imagine their faces when they drop the phone and it becomes a $8million paperweight.

And you are probably really poor and brainwashed. Why is it yours or anyone else's business how other people spend their own money? Do they tell you how you should spend yours? If these people want to use that $8 million as toilet paper, they have every right to.
No they don't have any right to waste the money. Too many unfortunate hungry (even in heavenly US of A$$hats) people are dying every day. If you can waste money this way, your taxes are way too low!
As it is the rock was a little too expensive for my liking and they just went and made it worse.....
Anyone who buys this phone needs to get kicked in the teeth 14 or 15 times.
