27. Sysmark 2004 SE (Office System Benchmark)

Sysmark2004 SE from Bapco measures the total system performance of computers engaged in Office and Internet tasks.

Now, someone's going to accuse us of getting the numbers wrong here; but we didn't. But we did equip all notebooks with one gig of RAM and the original hard drive for this test, as we also did for all the tests up until now. The hard drive disks of the nx6125 spins at a rate of 5400 rpm, while those of the Inspiron 6000 only reach a speed of 4200 rpm. Dell no longer sells the Inspiron 6000 with the drive we tested; now they only come with a 5400 HD. That means that a brand-new Inspiron 6000 bought online today will have a slightly better system performance and higher score than you see here.

The Sysmark score aside, its more important to find out that the Compaq nx6125, based on the Turion 64 ML-34 and ATI's RADEON XPRESS 200M (Graphics by) chipset, is a completely viable and competitive business notebook for everyday office tasks.
