9. Performance - Read
In contrast to the write performance, Figures 22 and 23 show more evenly matched read performance between the ReadyNAS 600 and Buffalo TeraStation. Once again, only the ReadyNAS 600 results are shown since the X6's results were essentially the same.

Note that the vertical scale in both figures is reduced by more than an order of magnitude from the write plots. Caching and buffering isn't really much help for read, so the results more closely reflect the products' innate performances.

However, Figures 24 and 25 show that moving up to a 1Gbps network connection reveals the ReadyNAS once again outperforms the TeraStation.

Since, as previously noted, the ReadyNAS doesn't implement jumbo frames for reading, and I didn't test the TeraStation in that mode, I have no data to present.
