When it comes to sports – and fantasy football in particular – talkin’ smack is an essential art form. “Let’s face it, the whole point of fantasy football is to talk smack,” ESPN.com fantasy football guru Matthew Berry said. “It’s all about humiliating your buddy, punishing and defeating your opponents – and then bragging about it.” Recognizing the importance of smack talk, many fantasy football sites have incorporated it into their game – such as by allowing players to exchange IM-like smack talk notes and cards.

According to The Fantasy Sports Trade Association, the average fantasy player has these characteristics:
- has played for 10 years
- spends an average of $467.60 per year playing fantasy sports
- is educated, professionals living in suburban USA
- three out of four play fantasy sports with people they know
- spends about three hours per week managing his or her team
- 80% male
- 72% married
- average age: 40
- 91% white/Caucasian
- 76% is a homeowner
- 66% has a Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 93% attended some college
- 59% makes $50,000 or more annually
- $76,871 average household income

What's the point of american football if you't kill your opponents and bribe the referee? It does need some sence of realism, and bribes and fouls are the cornerstones of reallife sports ....
