5. In The Box

Both systems came with a carrying case. Yes, as you might have already guessed, they are the same exact case. But while the same on the outside, they did not contain the same toys inside. Although they did include many of the same software discs - Nero, WinDVD, drivers, and an official OEM Windows XP w/SP2 CD - Hypersonic includes a restore DVD that is custom made for your system configuration. Instead of the restore diskette, CyberPower includes a User's Guide in a three ring binder.

Hypersonic included a T-shirt with their system. So not only can you sport your new laptop with their logo, but you can sport their logo on yourself at the same time. Saturn and Harley Davidson have made "fanware" like this popular; I guess it is to show customer pride. (Or is it computer pride?)

CyberPower includes a remote to let you watch television on the unit from another, more comfortable location. I am wondering if this takes portability to a rather unhealthy extreme - what's next, a remote for your remote? All kidding aside, it is a nice feature if you are sitting back in a hotel room and want to watch a movie while you relax.

I am not sure that you will want this notebook for your day-to-day office applications system, especially if you need to move it around a lot. That is, unless your New Year's resolution was to become physically fit. These systems themselves weigh in at a whopping 12.15 lbs, or about 5.5 kg. Add the charger into the workout for another 2.51lbs (about 1.14 kg) and you are almost up to 15 pounds!
Okay, with the weigh-in complete, let's see what kind of numbers these competitors can put up.
