9. Conclusion

We stated the following in November, in our discussion of the Go 6800 launch: "one thing is certain however: the development of 3D graphic monsters for portable PC systems will continue." This continues to be true with this latest round for mobile cards. The Go 6800 Ultra is simply impressive. It is capable of achieving what only desktop graphics chips could manage until now.

I am looking forward to receiving a final production unit here in the lab, to see if it will put up the same numbers as this test unit. However, if the final production XPS Gen2 can, it will be a great day for both the portable gaming community and high-end users at large. It will mean that finally, a notebook can dominate both the mobile market and a majority of desktop units. Until we can really put the unit through its paces, however, we can only speculate.
