Dadahack TAP3 Brings Old-School to MP3s

Who would’ve thought a cassette tape could hold hundreds of songs?

Aside from its retro form factor, other features make the Dadahack TAP3 mp3 player interesting. As a portable media player (PMP), it supports standard earphones and headphones through its 3.5mm TRS jack. As an SD card reader, it comes with a 2GB SD card preloaded with Dadahack’s debut album (aptly named TAP3 as well). As a rechargeable device with an internal Lithium-Ion battery, it connects to computers through its mini USB port for charging and data transfer.

In other words, a lot is possible when you’re done listening to TAP3 (the preloaded debut album of 7 MP3s). You can back up Dadahack’s songs to your computer, load your own MP3s onto the SD, and use the playback controls integrated onto this faux cassette tape to enjoy your own music. It’s even possible to increase this PMP’s capacity by using a higher-capacity SD. Obviously, the TAP3 (the actual device) is also a boon for computers without an SD card slot.

If only this PMP featured a display, and actually worked as a cassette tape for old-school players (oh wow, it does work on cassette players, sorry for the mix-up dear readers! Appreciate the correction though Curnel_D). But then again, that would be asking too much for its ₤25 ($38) list price Where else can you pay $38 for a SD card reader that breaths new life into your old-school audio equipment?
