@home: A Coffee Table For Your Gadgets

Promises the optimum couch work environment

No doubt, our laptops let us work anywhere. @home is a workspace-furniture combo designed from the ground up to accommodate gadgets.

Aside from shelves and storage spaces for keeping things neat, @home also features a built-in array of plugs, with small slits that allow cables to stay tucked underneath. Everything consolidates into one cord out of the coffee table. @home also has a collapsible stand to facilitate laptop use—or at least keep portable computers from taking up valuable space.

@home's minimalist look is very clean, and perfectly complements the design's ability to keep things neat. Yet is the concept itself sound? Proper laptop ergonomics demand for a high enough surface; the level of @home's top may strain backs as it forces users to crouch down to get work done.

Maybe @home is perfect for storing your gadgets, so that they don't pile up into ugly eyesores elsewhere in the house. As a productivity tool however, this coffee table remains unproven, and will remain so until a working prototype is produced.
