2. Networked Storage

Mirra was showing its Mirra Personal Server. According to the Mirra PR person I spoke with, they're pleased with how sales are going - they've ordered more inventory - and pleasantly surprised at its acceptance among professionals such as doctors, lawyers and the like. Seems these folks have had an need for an automatic way to keep their client files and other data backed up and Mirra seems to stratch that itch.

Mirra announced at the show that the product is moving from being available only from Mirra's website, to presently being sold in select Best Buys. Mirra says availability should soon spread to all Best Buys and they're continuing to work on expanding retail availability. A refresh of the firmware should be coming out shortly, also.

On the lower-priced end of networked storage Ximeta introduced a small office version of its popular NetDisk. The company was also showing, but not formally announcing, a wireless version of the NetDiskOffice and a "media expander" called Play@TV, both pictured below.

Both products should be out sometime this quarter at as yet undecided prices.
