Cell Phone Jammer Cleverly Disguised as Painting

Who cares if your ten-year-old can paint that too?

From ChinaVision comes a painting that jams all cell phones within the vicinity. The so-called Painting Cell Phone Jammer (henceforth dubbed the PCPJ) stops all sorts of radio signals, even using that PHS protocol we've never used. For specifics check out the list below:

  • CDMA: 869-894 MHz
  • GSM: 915-960 MHz
  • DCS (PCS): 1805-1900 MHz
  • PHS: 1900-1990 MHz
  • 3G: 2110-2170 MHz

With a range of 80 meters and a size of 211 x 170 x 52 mm, the PCPJ effectively covers the entire room, while mansion owners might want to shell out for several units. The 4 omni-directional antennas embedded into this disguised device jams different devices of different bandwidths at the same time.

If that scene of boats by flowers gets tiring, the painting also comes with an additional "3D" rendering of a multi-sail boat. Power options are from an AC wall socket (100-240V) or a DC source (45-55Hz).The painting also comes with a plug that tucks nicely into the back, and an IR receiver for the remote control.

But jamming devices always come with legal complications. Some jurisdictions will frown upon this painting, given that unfettered communications are sometimes a matter of life-and-death. And at a list price of $151.40, it might just be cheaper to ostracize those who insist on using their cell phones inappropriately.
