Thanks to its fast PC2700 DDR memory and the latest top-of-the-range 1.7 GHz Pentium-M, the S5200N more or less clearly outstrips the competition. Owing to its 8 MB cache, its 60 GB Hitachi hard drive also turned out to be pretty zippy.

Quake3 Arena

The 855GME chipset is used in this notebook. It comes complete with a graphics controller that gobbles up to 64 MB of system memory (shared memory architecture). In this respect, the video memory also benefits from the fast system memory. Compared to systems with slower memory, the result is a clear increase in average attainable frame rates.
