2. Battery Life And Build Quality

With new battery technologies, devices are getting to the point where people can use their devices all the day without fear of the battery dying on them. Oakley says its glasses offer the user up to six hours of musical enjoyment.

While battery life is important, what the glasses are made of is even more important. The company uses a gloss plastic as its material choice for the Thump 2. The glasses are strong, and while they do give to bending a certain amount, it would take a good deal of force to completely destroy them. Oakley uses its patented XYZ optics and Plutonite lens material to offer a very sharp and clear picture, which also helps to reduce glare and UVA, UVB and UVC rays.

Transferring Music

The folks at Oakley really went out of the way to making the music transfer process as simple as possible. This is good because it allows less technical people to easily load music onto the device; thus catering to an even wider range of users, and not just technology-savvy consumers.

To start the transfer process, you simply connect the supplied USB cord. Instantly, the computer recognizes a new storage device, and after several seconds the THUMP drive appears alongside your trusty C drive. All the user has to do is drag and drop files into the Oakley drive appropriately named Thump.

Transfer rates are fast thanks to the high speed USB 2.0 connection. You can then shortly have hundreds of songs at your fingertips.

One thing to note is that while you may drag and drop songs from iTunes, Oakley states that protected songs downloaded directly from iTunes will not be able to be played on the Thump due to Apple's mp4 format that is reserved for iPODs.
