VIDEO: Indy Jones Getting Butt Kicked Playing Uncharted 3
69-year-old Harrison Ford is most notably known for playing the character of Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy, and Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones in the four Indiana Jones movies. So what better person to get than Indy Jones himself to promote your upcoming action/adventure game for the PlayStation 3, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception? After all, there's no denying that treasure-hunting protagonist Nathan Drake and his adventures around the globe feel somewhat familiar... Nathan just doesn't have the hat and whip. Maybe that's why Harrison let Drake fall out of an airplane.

how much they pay him to act like that?
Just give him his paycheck and let him get lost. Uncharted doesn't need that kind of "cheap" ad.
there is something about watching Harrison Ford play uncharted 3, whether real or fake, makes me smile.
Fail, Ford! Get a PC!
Sad to see that in such a good actor, Solo and Indy were great.
As a side note, he looks somewhat sad in these videos... his eyes... so empty!
Arnold Schwarzenegger tried to ban games.
Harrison ford embraces them.

He's nearly a 70 year old man, older than my Dad and he doesn't even have a cellphone.
Let the poor old codger be.
...
They should have got Shia LeBouf as Indy's son to do it instead.
That is about the only game on the ps3 I would want to play
the controller isn't on and he isn't moving the analog sticks or pressing any buttons. you shouldn't be able to lie in your ads because those lies cause market distortions. truth in advertising needs to be a requirement.

Can't these people just be banned?
The end of the ads sounds like he's leaning back after dying and saying "So gay."
Harrison Ford, still styling
He doesn't seem sad, it's just his normal demeanor. This game looks really good too.

The sum total of Shia LeBoef's acting talent could be contained in Harrison Ford's little toe. It seems to consist soley of saying "No, no, no!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IXCK1EyP4s

Hence the nickname, Shia LeDouche.

Yeah, and i'm sure Marlon Brando buries Harrison in the acting department too, but getting a clearly confused by technology old fuddy duddy to advertise this is just sad.
Acting ability and association with tech does not automatically win, it is a cynical sell out on the Indiana Jones image.
How do you know he don't play video games?
@back_by_demand
Ads have Japanese subtitles, who im guessing has a thing for Harrison Ford, so what you think is completely irrelevant, it's how the Japanese will perceive it, and i have to say there are some real funky Japanese adverts out there so who knows

He is a multi-millionaire, he really doesn't need the money, surely doing this ad would harm his image as the handsome & brave rogue adventurer just to get a tacky pay-day?

He doesn't look confused to me, they hand him a controller and he starts playing. He doesn't take time to figure out what buttons do what, which even I would have to do because I play on the 360, not the PS3. As for why he decided to do the commercial, well, he usually only does one movie a year, maybe he just wanted something a little more low key?

That's good acting, but Isay again, he doesn't need the money and this harms his image.
What a sell out, even more embarrassing than Jean Claude Van Damme doing the Coors adverts.
How does having a little fun and talking about how amazed he is by a video game hurt his image? It's great for the video game people, and and shows that Harrison Ford is not a stuffy old codger who's only worried about "harming his image."
You do know the "clearly confused by technology" Harrison Ford flies his own Bell 407 helicopter, don't you?

The ads will only be aired in Japan, and not being Japanese i dont know if this will negatively impact his image, the Japanese sometimes have a funny sense of perception (didn't say it was bad, just different) so who is to say this will impact his image negatively, you are not the targeted audience for the ads so you can not say with absolute certainty that this will impact his image badly in Japan

This ad has already been shown outside Japan, look, it's at the top of the page.
...
The next time I see Harrison Ford I want it to be a post-trilogy of Star Wars, reprising his role as Han Solo, after all George Lucas needs one last pay day too.
