Sony Xperia T Receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

Introduces Project Butter and Google Now.

Following the launch of the alpha version for developers, Sony's Xperia T smartphone has received Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

Sony has rolled out the update for the device in several countries including Germany and the Netherlands, with other regions soon to follow. The Jelly Bean update sees the software version of the Xperia T being upgraded to 91.A.0.489.

It delivers improvements for the camera application, lock screen and dialer. Moreover, Sony has included Project Butter, which is designed to improve the overall speed of the smartphone. The upgrade will also deliver Google Now, an intelligent personal assistant.

Meanwhile, Sony's upcoming Sony Xperia Z smartphone will be upgraded to the latest version of Google's mobile platform, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, soon after launch.

    Love my Xperia P, but Sony is one of the last to update their devices... :(
