This Nikon DSLR Costume is Fully Functional

- By - Source : Core77

Photographer turns himself into a human Nikon D3 DSLR for Halloween.

Created by photographer and designer Tyler Card, this DIY Halloween costume is sure to be the life of the party. From a distance it may appear to just be a gigantic camera suit, that is until it snaps a photo of you and displays it on the backside. We've seen several camera costumes throughout the years, but none of them have gone as far as Card's masterpiece.

Nikon DSLR Costume

Tyler Card's DIY costume features a functional LCD, built-in camera flash, and even a shutter release. No word on how long the process took, but Card's creation craftily combined the use of a Dell laptop screen, camera parts and a lot of cardboard to turn himself into a human DSLR. For more photos and to see the making-of video, head on over to Tyler Card's tumblr blog here.

If you look at the making of video on the same channel it shows he didn't have to gut the camera, only an old laptop for the lcd screen.

That is awesome. I'm sure it was a huge hit at whatever Halloween parties he was attending.

I wonder how much time did it take to make that costume. It's awesome!

Okay, this time the persistent translation of what should be "back side" as "backside" warped the story. Unless the guy is displaying the pictures across his butt.

He probably mounted an actual camera to the centre of the "costume lens" and hooked up a wireless shutter release to be pressed on his costume. Then, all it takes is a USB connection to the laptop on the back or whatever, and he's all set. Not that hard, but very creative.

The root of all good designs.
