Mirror's Edge Leaps Onto iPhone Jan 2010
EA announced today that Mirror's Edge is jumping onto Apple's App Store next month.
EA revealed earlier today that Mirror's Edge is coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Slated to hit the Apple App Store in January 2010, EA has thrown out the original's 1st-person perspective in preference of an easier 3rd-person view. The company didn't really offer any additional details in regards to gameplay hours or storage requirements, however Faith Conners still remains as the game's protagonist in this portable version.
"Take control of Faith Connors, a member of an underground messenger group known as Runners, as she races to stop a deadly threat that has grown from within their own ranks," the company's press release reads. "Use Faith's incredible acrobatic moves to outmaneuver the enemy -run on walls, slide down precarious ramps, ride ziplines, and leap between rooftops. Leave the enemy in your dust."
On a whole, Mirror's Edge will offer 14 levels and "dynamic camera angles" to keep gamers truly annoyed with the 3rd-person perspective. The screenshots provided by EA reveal a clean, visually impressive game, but that may change depending on the hardware requirements, and how it performs on 2G devices.

I think it would suck, no phyx
If it plays smoothly, that would be cool.
I really wanted to buy the PC version of the game... but EA love of heavy DRM means no sale from me. I'd be on my 3rd install by now.
I enjoyed the game quite a bit on PC, but how will this work on the iPhone? Will a touch on the screen cause Faith to run towards it (climbing/jumping in the process)? Or will it be all accelerometer-based?
sounds like Kevin (the article writer) finds playing Mirrors Edge difficult in FPS... eh' =)
if they get the controls right then i'm all for it. that can be pretty much hit or miss though...
I think third person would make it annoying than much else. Though that's just me and my love for first-person.
Eh...like many others, I think the FPS would be rather sub par on iphone.
