Penguins, Irish and Brazillians Get Street View
Google Street View is officially on all seven continents.
Google Street View is an awesome tool for touring the world from your living room. You can see London's Piccadilly Circus, the Sydney Opera House and the Eiffel Tower, and it won't cost you a penny. This morning, the Google service went live in Ireland, Brazil and Antarctica, meaning that three years after it was first launched in the United States, Street View is now on all seven continents.
"We often consider Street View to be the last zoom layer on the map, and a way to show you what a place looks like as if you were there in person—whether you’re checking out a coffee shop across town or planning a vacation across the globe," writes Brian McClendon, VP of Engineering, Google Earth and Maps.
"We hope this new imagery will help people in Ireland, Brazil, and even the penguins of Antarctica to navigate nearby, as well as enable people around the world to learn more about these areas."
Here's a nice picture of the Guinness brewery at St. James' Gate, Dublin, to get you started on your sightseeing adventures. If you're less into the touristy spots and more into the people watching, don't worry; we Irish aren't immune to the excitement of flashing the Google Street View cars. Happy hunting!

"For this screw up, your going to go map Antarctica"
"For this screw up, your going to go map Antarctica"
in that order
Mapping tropical islands is a bonus, mapping Antarctica is a punishment, so someone did something wrong
