10-year-old Caught Playing Dead On Street View
We've seen a lot of funny things on Google Street View over the last year or so, but none of them involved pranks from children, and certainly not children pretending to be dead.
It's not unusual to see something out of the ordinary when looking around your area on Google Street View. Your neighbor cutting his grass with no shirt on or a police car parked outside your place of work is usually about as weird as it gets. However, residents of Middle Road, Worcester, got something else entirely when they were browsing Google Street View.
The picture above appears to be a young girl, lying face down in the street with one sandal in the gutter and one by her foot. Residents immediately assumed the worst, jumping to the conclusion that the girl had been killed, and phoned Google.
However, it seems Google's Street View cameras just happened to capture the moment when 10-year-old Azura Beebeejaun decided to play dead in the hopes she'd cause a friend to panic.
"I didn’t know anything about the Google Street View car (recording me)," Azura explained to the Daily Mail. "I fell over while I was playing with my friend and thought it would be funny to play dead."
Azura's mother, a youth worker, said that when she heard some residents talking about a body on the street on Google Street View, she assumed it was her daughter right off the bat.
"A couple of people on the road have mentioned to me a few weeks ago that they had seen a picture of a girl lying on the floor on our street," Mrs. Beebeejaun said. "I assumed it was my daughter because she is always playing around on the pavement outside. But I never really thought one picture would cause such a commotion."
However, Mrs. Beebeejuan said she understood how people could have thought the picture of her daughter was a dead body.
"I understand how some people might have thought the picture looked like a dead body - I just wish she was that quiet all the time."

Only thing interesting about this is that the Google van drove past a dead girl without bothering to stop. Must be a nice neighborhood.
next time lets try the invisible rope trick on the google van
Funny kid. Thanks Jane for the piece. Makes my day!
Hes just taking a dirt nap.
lmfao this is AWESOME
The mothers attitude is great. "I assumed it was my daughter, I just wish she was that wuiet all the time" vs. "Google are all pedophiles for taking pictures of my three year old playing naked in the street" Nice to see that inbreeding hasn't destroyed all the populations inteligence...
^ Yeah... glad to see the mother has a sense of humor.
We should all make a point of doing really weird things when the google van drives past.
Wait ... this could devalue my house.
I'll have to make sure my spaceship is hidden out the back too Jane ...

This is google were talking about here, after obtaining every bit of information from her they threw her dead corpse out the back of the van.
It seriously looks like a dead body. I can see why people assumed the worst. Good trick by the girl!

Not to mention the team responsible for sanitising the images (blurring plates, etc.) simply choosing to work around the dead girl, and then moving on... haha.
LOLZ
Did the Google car not stop to check the the kid is OK? What wrong with Google?

LOL, I love British humor. You'd have your child taken from you these days over here for saying something like that.

So what? They probably saw her standing up and going back to play with her friends a few seconds after the picture was taken. Or before that. What makes you think the girl decided to play dead for more than 15 seconds? I doubt she's that commited to scaring her friends.
lol XD this is awesome..
Nah they just cleaned up the body afterward, and made a story to cover it up.

She probably needs it (the sense of humor), being a youth worker!
Now all her neighbours will call her "the Dead Girl"
Or, may be, "The Undead"
looks like a malicious act to me
We need Jane to do all the UK portal news...
As soon as I saw the title of this article, I immediately got a mental image of the title of the next news article: "10-year-old on google street view actually dead. Police still investigating."
You would think that the google van would've taken another shot after she got up. That would've been the right thing to do. The commotion is googles fault for not doing that, not the kids. The guys in the google van used this photo to see what kind of publicity they could get from it. It's humorous on both the little girl and the google guys part if you ask me...

if she was playing with a friend it was probably obvious to the google driver what was going on. or it would at least be clear she wasn't dead.
Hah, funny
LOL !!! looks like "DAWN OF THE DEAD" !!!!!
This would make a great gag if done on a massive scale. Imagine a large amount of people playing dead on a street or even better several streets as Google is taking the pics. Or better yet getting about a hundred people make them look like zombies are roaming and attacking people.
Man this is hilarious, by the time it get prep and loaded on the server for everybody to see there is a good time in between it and when it did happen. I find it funny when they call Google and not necessarily the cops. I mean the Police would know by now, they call in like it's news and they have to alert the authorities.
As for the drivers I think they have the eyes to know if it's a prank or not and again it's possible that he did not see her, she was after all behind a car, they can't see everything hidden, they have to keep their eyes on the road.
"I understand how some people might have thought the picture looked like a dead body" What she meant is probably that those "some people" need to realize they are dumb.
Back in my college days I woke up like that several times. Ahh.. the good times and extreme drunkenness
