Apple Store App Now Optimized for iPhone 5

By - Source: Mobile Marketing Watch | B 17 comments

Apple Store app now fills entire 4-inch screen of the iPhone 5.

Apple optimized the Apple Store app for the iPhone 5 over the weekend. The new version now utilizes the full 4 inches of the iPhone 5's screen, consequently taking advantage of the 16:9 aspect ratio.

While the device's taller screen has received praise, apps not yet optimized for the iPhone 5 appear in the older 3.5-inch format through a 4:3 aspect ratio. Such apps running on the iPhone 5 features black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

The Apple Store app gives mobile users the opportunity to purchase products such as iPhones, iPads, Macs, as well as a batch of accessories. In addition, consumers can purchase items through the app and have it sent to their home or to their nearest Apple retail store for pickup.

So they released the phone without even updating their own appstore to use the extra screen space? Has Apple released anything recently that wasn't half finished?

Well, I saw that coming a mile away. You'll get black bars with all the old apps. Bit problematic, don't you think?

How do Android apps render on all the different size and aspect and resolution Android phones?

I'm asking for real. I've never seen it.

Android will scale content and most of the time it looks ok but sometimes not. Good article on it...

Jobs is Apple. It rose with Jobs and (will) fall with Jobs. Now that he's gone, we'll see more of this blunders (in this case: late fix) in the future. I'm sure Tim can just cook up more excuses.

Rumor: Apple releasing iOS 6 update. Features the ability to stretch apps to take advantage of iPhone 5's widescreen... nah App devs should do the work themselves.

Truly brilliant. How could such magical innovations be missed by all other competitors. Really impressive!

Yes Jobs was apple, he left them somethings that will keep apple going abit longer, but once that happens apple will go back to what it was before Jobs came back, junk.
