Fujitsu Announces Ultraportable LifeBook P7230

Fujitsu has today announced the LifeBook P7230, the latest in its ultraportable notebook line. The P7230 comes in at 10.7 x 7.9 x 1.1", weighing less than three pounds and with a 10.6", 1280 x 768 pixel, Crystal View Display.

The notebook, 15% thinner than its predecessor Fujitsu tells us, is powered by the Intel Core Solo U1400 Ultra Low Voltage Processor; and with a second battery Fujitsu is claiming up to 9.75 hours of battery life for the P7230.

On the security front, the P7230 has a couple of now standard tricks up its sleeve, including an integrated biometric fingerprint swipe sensor and an embedded Trusted Platform Module; as well as a security lock slot, for the more conventional in the audience.

The notebook is available immediately via Fujitsu's website with a choice of Windows Vista Home Basic, Vista Business or Windows XP Professional... The smart money is on XP Professional, if you're interested in a slightly less stress-filled life right now. Pricing begins at $1,699.
