Black Friday streaming deals - Netflix and Prime Video

Will there be Black Friday Netflix deals?

The short answer is, don't bet on it. Netflix rarely offers discounts, even around Black Friday. The world's biggest streamer raised its price back in January, and in 2023 started an aggressive account-sharing crackdown.

With its position as the bigger player in the streaming service sector secured, Netflix doesn't have much incentive to offer a cheaper subscription during seasonal sales. If you want Netflix, you'll likely need to pay full price.

However, there are a few ways you can get Netflix for free. The most prominent of these is T-Mobile's "Streaming on Us" perk, which gives you Netflix when you sign up for a specific cellphone plan. Other ways to save money and still get Netflix are Verizon's Netflix + HBO Max bundle, or the Comcast 'StreamSaver' bundle, which also includes Apple TV and Peacock.

Will Prime Video get a Black Friday discount?

Most subscribers get Prime Video as part of their larger Amazon Prime subscription, which comes with a whole host of membership benefits. This retailer membership isn't typically discounted, and Amazon historically sees a spike in sign-ups around Black Friday, so don't expect a discount this year.

If you want to get Prime Video at the lowest possible cost, you can opt for a Prime Video-only plan, which costs $8.99 per month, and gives you the Amazon-owned streaming service without the other perks like free shipping, Prime Music, Prime Gaming and more. So, it's worth considering if you only want access to the streaming part of Amazon's subscription offering.

While Prime Video itself probably isn't getting discounted for Black Friday 2025. You can "upgrade" your account with various add-on channels, including HBO Max, Starz, MGM+ and AMC+. These optional extras are often reduced during Black Friday sales, and this year's deals start from just $2.99.
