3 best new to Prime Video movies to stream this weekend (May 8-10)
Add these movies to your Prime Video watchlist
If your weekend plans involve little more than kicking back on the sofa and streaming some new Prime Video movies, you're in luck. Amazon's streaming service kicked off May by adding dozens of new movies to the platform, meaning there's still plenty to keep you entertained.
Alongside those recent releases, this week, Prime Video has also dropped an all-new exclusive movie, "No Place to Be Single," and it's perfect for anyone looking for a little romance this weekend.
So, if you'd prefer to skip the scrolling and just want some streaming suggestions for the weekend, you can find a quick round-up of three new to Prime Video movies below.
'Goodfellas' (1990)
Let's kick the list off with Martin Scorsese's crime classic, "Goodfellas," which is still one of the finest Mafia movies you can watch (and probably one you don't need me to sell).
The film explores the criminal underworld of New York City by introducing us to an insider, Irish-Italian Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) and his two pals Jimmy (Robert De Niro) and Tommy (Joe Pesci), and follows Henry as he rises through the ranks of his neighborhood's organized crime branch, ending up enrolled in the FBI's witness protection program. It's slick, entertaining, and most definitely one of the best movies added to the platform this month.

'Hot Fuzz' (2007)
I genuinely couldn't tell you how many times I've seen "Hot Fuzz," but I can say with absolute certainty that I've never grown tired of Edgar Wright's action-packed buddy comedy, and so when I saw it was added to Prime Video at the start of the month, I knew I had to add it to this list.

If you've never seen the best movie in the Cornetto trilogy before, "Hot Fuzz" sees London supercop Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) transferred to the sleepy village of Sandford after his arrest record puts the rest of the force to shame. And while his new assignment initially looks like it couldn't be easier, Angel soon suspects that something stinks in Sandford...

'No Place to Be Single' (2026)
"No Place to Be Single" is a new romantic comedy that's inspired by Felicia Kingsley's bestselling novel of the same name.
The film whisks us away to Belvedere in Chianti, a picturesque Tuscan town where love is the chief concern. Everyone's either coupled up or searching for their soulmate there — everyone except single mother Elisa (Matilde Gioli), at least. When a childhood friend (Cristiano Caccamo) returns, it turns her life upside down (and awakens some new and unexpected feelings).

Martin is a Streaming Writer at Tom’s Guide, covering all things movies and TV. If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. Before joining the team, he was a Staff Writer at What To Watch where he wrote about a broad range of shows that stretched from "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher" to "Bridgerton" and "Love Island". When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
