At the top of the month, Netflix added a whopping 43 new shows and movies to its streaming service. But if all those options have left your head spinning, the Netflix top 10 is as good a tool as any to beat back that choice paralysis and finally settle on what to watch next.
Sure, not every movie in the Netflix top 10 is guaranteed to be a winner — just look at Kathryn Bigelow's divisive political thriller "A House of Dynamite" at #4. That's why you'll find me here every weekend combing through the Netflix top 10 to highlight the movies that actually deserve a spot on your watchlist. Because no one wants to waste their precious streaming time with an over-hyped dud.
This week, that includes the earworm-filled animated adventure from the team behind the "Spider-Verse" films, a seriously slept-on dark comedy that had me in stitches, and Guillermo Del Toro's highly anticipated adaptation of one of the most iconic horror stories to date.
Not vibing with any of these picks? For even more streaming recommendations, be sure to check out our guide to everything new on Netflix this month. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the three must-watch movies in Netflix’s top 10.
This article is based on Netflix's top 10 movies list in the U.S. as of 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 8.
Best movies in the Netflix top 10
'Frankenstein' (2025)
When I heard Guillermo del Toro was adapting the gothic classic "Frankenstein" with Mia Goth and Oscar Isaac, I said "say no more" and added it to my watchlist. This kind of story with the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s eye for tragic beauty and magical realism feels like a match made in heaven, and Jacob Elordi’s haunting turn as the creature is nothing short of devastating.
It’s a cautionary tale we've all heard before: Victor Frankenstein (Isaac), a brilliant but arrogant scientist determined to create life, only to be horrified by his creation once his ungodly experiment succeeds. It kicks off a relentless chase between creator and creation, each hellbent on the other’s destruction. Del Toro’s unmistakable style transforms Mary Shelley's classic at the helm, Mary Shelley’s timeless tale into a darkly romantic epic that's as gorgeous as it is impossible to forget.

'Game Night' (2018)
One of the best comedies of the 2010s is finally getting its flowers now that it's on Netflix. Married couple Max (Jason Bateman) and Annie (Rachel McAdams) host a weekly game night with their friends that can get pretty competitive, but that rivalry gets dialed up to 11 when Max's egotistical older brother Brook (Kyle Chandler) offers to host and plans an elaborate murder mystery for them to solve.
But when Brooks actually disappears, the group realizes the night's game has taken a dangerous turn. As Max, Annie, and their friends scramble to figure out what's going on, each clue brings new surprises that raise the stakes. I will say, this dark comedy takes some wild turns, but Bateman and McAdams' effortless charm brings plenty of laughs that make this a joy to watch.

'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (2025)
Surprising no one, Netflix's biggest streaming hit of all time, "K-Pop Demon Hunters," is still going strong in the top 10 (though "Frankenstein" managed to kick it down to the #2 spot). And yes, I am still shouting from the rooftops about how good this movie is. I'm not a big K-pop fan myself, but you don't have to be to have a blast with this bubblegum pop animated adventure from the animation studio behind the "Spider-Verse" movies.
It follows Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo) — a hit K-pop trio who keep the world safe from supernatural evils with their music. However, their biggest challenge yet comes when a group of demons disguised as a rival boy band start climbing the charts. With the fate of everything they've worked for on the line, the trio will need to tackle their own inner demons first to have any chance of saving the day.
