NordVPN, which sits at the top of our guide to the best VPNs, has announced that it will be partnering with CrowdStrike to power its Threat Protection Pro feature. The collaboration aims to better protect users against modern cyber threats using real-time, adversary-driven threat intelligence.
Marijus Briedis, CTO at NordVPN, explained: “Our mission is to provide the strongest possible protection for our customers, and that starts with intelligence we can trust. CrowdStrike leads the industry in understanding adversaries and emerging threats.
"Bringing that intelligence into Threat Protection Pro gives our users an immediate and powerful layer of defense, helping them stay ahead of threats without compromising speed or privacy.”

How will Threat Protection Pro be enhanced?
NordVPN's Threat Protection Pro will be enhanced via CrowdStrike's CrowdStrike Counter Adversary Operations, which tracks nation-state, eCrime, and hacktivist groups. This helps track emerging threats as well as keep tabs on these cyber criminals in order to glean more information about their behaviour and movements. This information will be integrated into Threat Protection Pro, giving users stronger protection against cyber attacks that they are most likely to be targeted by, including malicious websites, phishing attempts, malware, and trackers.
Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike, notes: “Cybersecurity isn’t a malware problem – it’s an adversary problem. CrowdStrike pioneered the adversarial approach to security and continues to deliver the gold standard in threat intelligence.
"When a category-defining brand like NordVPN selects CrowdStrike, it reinforces a simple truth: the best trust the best. We’re bringing the same adversary insights that protect enterprises and governments to millions of consumers and raising the bar for what consumer security should deliver.”
Other benefits for NordVPN users include:
- Enterprise-grade threat intelligence: Threats in user network data will be scanned and matched against threat intelligence sourced directly from CrowdStrike’s global sensor network, research teams, and threat hunters.
- Context-rich protection: Threats will be identified and blocked faster thanks to insight into threat indicators.
- Continuous real-time updates: Users will be protected from emerging threats thanks to regularly refreshed intelligence.
