Windscribe has announced a new partnership with Kagi, Notesnook, Addy.io, and Ente in a move designed to strengthen online privacy and decentralization.
Together, the companies are forming a "privacy-focused alliance" aimed at delivering a full suite of independent tools, including search, email, note-taking, and cloud storage, without compromising on user autonomy.
According to Windscribe, the goal is simple: to create a robust, decentralized system that puts users firmly in control of their data and digital footprint. While Windscribe remains best known for having one of the best VPN services, this collaboration expands its privacy-first mission across more areas of everyday internet use.
As part of the announcement, Windscribe Pro users will also gain access to exclusive deals and discounts from each of the new partners.
A VPN can do many things for you, but it can't do everything. That's why we're happy to announce new partnerships with @KagiHQ, @notesnook, @addy_io and @enteio to create a privacy-focused alliance! Pro users get a discount on all these privacy tools!https://t.co/1ldBdEMz21January 12, 2026
What are the aims of this partnership?
At the heart of this alliance is a shared belief that decentralization is key to protecting user privacy. Instead of building an all-in-one bundle in-house, Windscribe has joined forces with trusted providers who already specialize in their respective categories.
The companies say this approach offers four key advantages:
- Security First. Each service runs its infrastructure and codebase independently. If one account is compromised, the rest remain unaffected, minimizing risk to the broader ecosystem.
- Availability. Decentralized systems reduce the likelihood of a total service shutdown. If one provider experiences downtime or legal pressure, others continue to operate normally.
- Privacy Through Diversity. As data is spread across independent services, it becomes much harder for bad actors to correlate user behavior across platforms.
- Specialization Over Bundling. Each partner focuses on doing one thing well, whether that's email, cloud storage, search or note-taking, without forcing users into unfamiliar alternatives.
Why form a partnership?
Windscribe said compartmentalization is key to ensuring long-term privacy. Rather than consolidating user data under one umbrella, working with independent providers helps reduce risk and surveillance potential.
"Privacy is a cornerstone of freedom, and with this partnership, we're taking another step toward an internet where users have control, not corporations," explained Windscribe CEO Yegor Sak. "By supporting independent, specialized services, we ensure that privacy isn't just a feature, it's a foundation."
With this new alliance, Windscribe is helping shape a privacy-focused internet where users can browse, store, and communicate without sacrificing control or exposing their data to unnecessary risk.
We test and review VPN services in the context of legal recreational uses. For example: 1. Accessing a service from another country (subject to the terms and conditions of that service). 2. Protecting your online security and strengthening your online privacy when abroad. We do not support or condone the illegal or malicious use of VPN services. Consuming pirated content that is paid-for is neither endorsed nor approved by Future Publishing.
