12. Too Many Tools Diminish Performance
One unfortunate problem afflicts the Z60m Thinkpad, as it does other models - system boot and startup seem to take forever to complete. This stems from the fact that no fewer than 25 programs are loaded during startup, as a quick look at the Run key in the Windows Registry will attest.

Not only does this make for a noticeably dragged out boot process, these programs also consume sizable system resources. And it's hard to cope with the large number of icons in the taskbar, which serve more to confuse users than inform them.

While a simple Windows installation consumes about 160 MB of RAM, the tools by themselves suck up more than 200 MB of valuable resources on the Z60m!

Between the tools and Windows XP, 361 MB of RAM are consumed.

Cleaning up the Run key shortens boot time noticeably!
