16. Value Analysis
Both systems were checked against current prices using the manufacturer’s online system configurator. Alienware’s Area-51 m9750 came equipped with $4,409 worth of base hardware and upgrades, while the Eurocom M570RU Divine-X configuration we received has a more wallet-friendly $3,427 price tag.
Both notebooks were configured primarily for gaming, and given the Area-51 m9750’s gaming prowess, is its higher price really that outrageous?

A 29% increase in price gets buyers a 49% increase in performance with Alienware’s Area-51 m9750. If you have the extra money and need the extra performance, the costlier Alienware system is a better gaming value than the Eurocom M570RU Divine-X.
Of course not everyone games constantly, and a few "gaming notebook" buyers might just be casual gamers who really need the "whole package" of performance. How do these systems fare in total performance per dollar spent?

The Alienware Area-51 m9750 has a 27% average performance gain for its 29% higher price, giving it a 98% value rating compared to the less expensive Eurocom M570RU Divine-X. Buyers who can afford the more expensive system need not fear that they’re being "ripped off", while those with mid-sized budgets can still find much of the performance they seek in the lower-cost unit. It’s a win-win situation.
