Trend Micro is developing online Internet security services based on cloud computing, which will be a core business of the company over the next 10 years. Company founder Steve Chang declared the new initiatives at a March 12 press conference in Taipei, celebrating the company’s 20th anniversary. The number of new computer viruses generated in a year had increased from only five, 20 years ago, to 5.50 million in 2007, Chang indicated.
