The Concept Gadgets of Iron Man 2

Finally, we have an excuse to show pics of Scarlett Johansson!

Whether better than its predecessor or not, clearly Iron Man 2 had much more eye candy—and even a concept gadget or two.

Barring Tony Stark's suit (which is perhaps the ultimate concept gadget), loads of other futuristic fixtures painted a picture of Stark's technology- and information-driven lifestyle. First you had the transparent PDA he used to make his point (emblazoned with the LG logo). Said device let the fictional genius hijack other devices and systems on demand.

Then you have Stark's hologram-driven lab, which is basically a wet dream for rapid prototypers.  Like the holograms that appeared in the first Iron Man, these are also fully interactive. In the second movie however, they were operated on a larger scale.

Our personal favorite however, was Stark's tabletop computer. Google gets some movie-time as the inventor's search engine of choice, as he taps his way across a coffee table for research. The subject of his studied examination? The most beautiful part of Iron Man 2, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff or the Black Widow.

And what about Iron Man's suit? The underlying (theorized) technology may have changed, but the basic concept is still the same: we all dream of seeing advanced power armor that doesn't sacrifice mobility for firepower and adaptability. It's reasonable to assume that until we come up with technology to fulfill it, the Iron Man dream will remain relatively constant.

Loads of other details over these concept gadgets—and what it took to bring them to life on the silver screen—are available here.
