Velocity Micro Notemagix M10 Netbook
We’ve been looking for the perfect piece of portable computing equipment for students without the hefty price tag or the inconvenience of something that’s too bulky to stash in a backpack. The best we’ve found is the Velocity Micro Notemagix M10 Netbook. Weighing a mere 2.6 lbs., it offers a comfortable key configuration and a 10” LCD screen that meets the visual requirements for light word processing, browsing, and basic application activities. The processing brain of the Velocity is the 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, which delivered a rather impressive amount of speed for most of our tasks. Cool additional features include a 160 GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM, WiFi networking (802.11b/g), an integrated Webcam and a microphone for easy video chats, three USB ports, a VGA port for connecting to an external monitor, and a multi-format memory card reader.
While we were surprised to see that the Velocity comes standard with the Windows XP operating system, it was understandable that the company chose to include the preferred Windows OS for students, as many schools are still using it and it’s relatively easy for new users to grasp quickly. Our favorite feature of this tiny powerhouse is the six-cell battery, giving users almost six hours of use on a single charge in our tests and making it a suitable solution for traveling adults, as well. Available in a black, blue, or red glossy exterior finish, it comes packaged with a simple, yet durable Swiss Case travel sleeve for safe and easy transport and a standard one-year limited warranty.
With a price tag less than $350 and convenient availability online and at major retailers like Walmart, this accessible and impressive machine gets the job done.

I got side-tracked by the description of the Mark-My-Time bookmark. Who is worried about the size of a battery that comes with a bookmark? If your child is old enough to read by themselves, they should be old enough to know not to swallow crap (and they should be potty trained too, for that matter). "Little Johnny was half-way through 'War and Peace' when he decided to swallow the battery out of his book-mark. Even though I found it in his diaper the next day I'm still suing."
Anyway, does the bookmark automatically stop itself when you close the book around it? That would be cool.
Ha ha, that cracked me up! I don't know--I know I was reading at a very young age, but I probably still ate things I wasn't supposed to
