26. Lame MP3 Encoding

Lame is one of the most common MP3 encoders. It is frequently integrated into applications that require an external MP3 encoder. In contrast to earlier versions, a thread-optimized version offers marked improvements in performance compared to earlier versions with HyperThreading or dual core processors. The only thing that matters here is a high core clock rate. In addition, the Lame code is optimized for Intel CPUs, which means that the Compaq nx6125 doesn't stand a chance in this race.

Studio 9 Plus (video Encoding And Editing)

Pinnacle Systems Studio 9 Plus is a popular video editing program. It interests us as a benchmark because the manufacturer usually designs the most recent version to take advantage of new CPU functions such as SSE3.

Despite SSE3-optimized code, the nx6125 isn't able to turn this theoretical head start into a victory, and loses out once again to the notebooks based on Intel technology.
