9. FEAR


FEAR is much harder on the system than Doom 3, but still playable. Using 8xAF especially makes the frame rates dip, but it’s still in the realm of playability for both machines. Not bad for a notebook, though I’d probably keep the AF to a minimum. As you can see, the different CPUs and operating systems don’t have that much of an impact.
Oblivion


It’s in the crippling outdoor environment of Oblivion that we see these notebooks brought to their knees, and also experience a real difference in performance between the Eurocom and M-Tech. Once again, I’m not sure if it’s due to the different operating systems or the different CPUs - it’s probably a bit of both - but the Eurocom’s E6800 Extreme with Windows XP walks away with this one compared to the M-tech’s E6400 with Windows Vista Business.
