10. Doom 3

Doom3 is currently one of the most taxing games on a graphics card, especially with all of its "eye candy" turned on. For our tests we used the Doom 3 default timedemo demo1, of course set at the maximum details available. The driver was set to "application controlled", with FSAA initially disabled. Using the high-quality setting, anisotropic filtering automatically runs in 8 sample mode. For the second run we added 4X FSAA. Even the big boys have a hard time delivering more than 30 frames per second at 4x AA and 8x AF.

The PCMark scores are posted as a reference. Feel free to check your personal scores against them.

It is quite clear from these results that Doom 3 is not going to work well on the Mayhem G3 under even High Details. All of the toys have to be turned off to get good performance and where is the fun in that?

is there a way to enter the bios and change the cpu speed on these computers?
