4. Video Quality, Usage Models And Model Variations

We tried out the GameBridge unit using a Microsoft Xbox 360, and found that the video looked as good as if it had been played on a standard definition TV. While video by itself was smooth, however, we found the text to be a little fuzzy due to visible fringing. As expected, the overall image quality was nowhere close to high definition TVs (HDTV), but if you want to save space by using your computer display (or notebook) rather than a TV, the GameBridge is a great alternative.

It is also a nice option for computer users who want to avoid the hassle or cost associated with installing a TV add-in card . It also seems to be a great idea for long road trips, where you would likely have your notebook with you, but likely not a TV. It might also be useful to keep children busy during long road trips. Since the unit is small and USB powered, you would only need to use a small, inexpensive ($20) power inverter. This would be adequate to supply both a game console and your laptop with power.

The unit is smaller than a credit card and thus ultra-portable; its dimensions are only 2.62" (L) x 1.7" (W) x 0.75" (H). It includes a small carrying bag that fits all the cables necessary to run it.

There are two models of the GameBridge available: the one we tested is the AVC-1410, which has the built-in TV tuner. The AVC-1400 is the same device minus the tuner. The AVC-1410 with TV tuner is available for $99; the AVC-1400 without TV tuner costs $69.

I read reviews all over, say its great. its not. do not buy this product what ever you do. only if you play turn based games and are on the road with system + laptop. its not playable for fighting games and the video is honestly the worst video output i have ever seen in a pc product.
