7,000 Dominoes Used to Celebrate Windows 7
All the Windows 7 hype is finally dying down. No more insane burgers or performances by Ashley Tisdale, no more Family Guy clips or launch parties. It's nearly over, guys. But nearly never won the race.
The latest video doing the rounds today is footage of a stunt pulled by twenty employees in Microsoft's Hyderabad center. The staff got together and set up 7,000 dominoes that, when knocked over, display the Windows logo in all its glory.
The video is sort of anticlimactic. You don't need to be told that 7,000 dominoes is a lot, but what you may not know is that if they're not organized in a really cool way, it just gets kind of dull to watch everything unfold. Especially when it takes four minutes to get to the best part: the little dominoes fireworks at the end. For the highlights, skip to the end to watch the aforementioned fireworks, or to 1:22, when the chain breaks and has to be restarted.

Leave it to Microsoft to make the most boring epic domino pattern ever.
That's different...guess those who were involved felt the need to do a bit of elaborate brown nosing.
It's kind of boring.
Skip to 1:25 for Windows 7 first bug!
Then skip to 2:50 for the rest of the festivities!
They should have done a simultaneous uncovering of 7, instead of row by row.. took too long..
How much money was wasted in that stupid racket....
stop wasting your money and sell your product descent prices
Windows 7 Dominoes crashed and needs to be restart. LOL!!!
OMG that took forever!
Kindof reminds me of downloading large pics while on dial-up, one line at a time.
Should have done it with more parallelism
Reminded me of Spectrum games.... loading from tape. About as interesting too.
That would have been a bitch to setup. Could you imagine if you were the person setting it up and you were almost at the end and then accidentally knocked one over and the whole thing starting falling over! That would suck!!
Would be more impressive if after all the dominoes fell over, it looked like a different image. Instead of staying at the Win 7 logo, it could have turned into something else.
Otherwise, it's just a bunch of dominoes.
Having to manually restart the domino after a failure, priceless!
I think they did it on purpose as a "feature", so the presentation wouldn't get too boring.
wooo. yeah yeah! woohooo, yeah
20 seconds later WTF they are still going wow thats kind of boring, especially with this camera angle
that was sweet!
i like the fireworks and the windows flag design bunch of balloons.

Beat me to it! I was gonna say something like, "See! It already glitched!" LOL
This kinda felt like watching a JPEG image load up on dial up.
Also, the people were getting WAY too excited.
Also, the people were getting WAY too excited.
Yeah, I know. After the first 10 seconds I put it on mute. WAY too annoying.
BORING. Tough to beat the V for Vendetta dominos. Only time dominos have ever given me a chill
Windows is now loading... loading...
lol, dead pixels.
im sorry, I love Windows 7 but that vid was just full of failure!
This will be the movie that Win7 will show everytime it starts ... trying to hide the loading time ! lol
Now, I hope that whoever masterminded the unfolding mechanism is NOT employed in MS's software department.
promotional stunt done terribly wrong by nerds
