7. Quickset: Power Management By Dell
Dell has gone its own way with regard to power management. In addition to the standard Windows power schemes, the direct supplier gives users the ability to create power schemes that are tuned to their own specific needs with the "Quickset" tool.

Good: Differing from standard schemes, it is also possible to define presets for the display brightness and the activity of LAN components.

For the comparison tests, we first ran all benchmarks with the Celeron M 1.3 GHz CPU that was included. Afterwards, all measurements were made with the otherwise identical notebook, but with a Pentium M 1.4 GHz CPU from our lab's pool.
