Like most notebook computers today, the Dell M1710 can play CDs and DVDs without loading Windows.

OK, time for a quick tour around the four sides of the M1710.

Left side, from left to right: security cable slot, air exhaust for Northbridge chip and CPU, 2 USB 2.0 ports, CD/DVD drive

Right side, from left to right: ExpressCard slot, IEEE 1394 (Firewire) port, headphone out jack, microphone in jack, digital media slot (below audio jacks), air exhaust for Nvidia graphics processor

Front side, from left to right: left stereo speaker, multimedia keys, right stereo speaker

Back side, from left to right: air intake for Nvidia graphics processor, S-Video Out, network connector, modem connector, 4 USB 2.0 ports, DVI connector, VGA connector, power in, air exhaust for Nvidia graphics processor
