Los Angeles (CA) - Online classified ad giant Craigslist has been ordered by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to reveal an Oscar ticket seller’s identity. Back in February, "Daniel" posted up a Craigslist ad selling two tickets to the Academy Awards for $2500 each.
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences sued Craigslist for the identity of the seller because reselling of the tickets is against the rules because of security issues - after all movie stars, directors and even politicians attend the annual Academy Awards.
Craigslist representatives didn’t show up to the hearing in Los Angeles and the company must now reveal the login information and IP address of the seller.

This is crap, just another example of a company (or whatever they are) that doesn't like internet anonymity. Why not just try to buy the tickets from the guy and find out who he/she is?
Why not just ID the tickets so only the purchasure can redeem them.
That's assuming that each ticket has the person's name on it. Perhaps next year they will.
Overly wealthy and powerful people assemblies. The biggest crooks in this world are not the ones that break into your house in the middle of the night. The biggest crooks are the ones that rob society through taxation and corporate monopolies. The mob isn't dead, it's just underground, has a different background, and laughs us in the face behind it's shroud of "political justice."
I love how they give themselves awards. It's like Baseball players voting for the all-stars or Fashion Designers telling each other how great their clothes are.
Self-importance will always have an appreciative audience I suppose.
