4. The Remotes

I had two remotes to choose from on this build: one came with the MEGA 180 that was designed to control the Mega 180 in both HiFi and PC modes using MSI bundled software and the other shipped with the AIW9600.

The MSI remote turned out to be a complete disappointment. It was wafer-thin at ¼"(.64 cm) thick, and used a three-volt watch battery instead of standard sized batteries. It also felt very flimsy and cheap. The bubble-type buttons were unresponsive and cumbersome and the range was unimpressive. It took me about 10 minutes to get fed up with it and go back to the ATI bundled Remote Wonder. I had used the Remote Wonder with my previous setup and found it to be versatile and problem free.
