This is too much printer (and scanner/copier) for one student. At 21.3 inches deep, it takes up quite a lot of space. Instead, we think it should be shared with a group of roommates or in a common area in a dorm. Since it easily connects to a wireless network means it will be easy for multiple computers to find and print to this machine. It is tough to find a printer with wireless capabilities for under $200, but this one easily jumps that hurdle. It is also rare to find a printer that both prints high-quality text and photos and does it quickly. Epson boasts that the NX515 can pump out 15 pages per minute of black text at laser-printer quality (lower the quality, and you can get up to 36 pages in a minute). When hard copies of essays are due near finals time, a group of students needs a printer that can handle the rush.

But if there’s time to spare, make the effort to save paper by manually getting this printer to print on both sides of each piece of paper.

Memory card slots and a PictBridge port mean you can print photos straight out of the camera.
