11. Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse

Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse, $29.99

Nobody wants to spend four years with a touchpad. Every notebook owner should have a mouse—not necessarily a fancy mouse, but a reliable, functional, wireless mouse. It needn’t be boring (unless plain is preferred). Logitech’s offering fits the bill. The mouse is cheap—the only downside is that the RF wireless dongle is full-sized and does not benefit from the more petite and unobtrusive design of some of the company’s other mice. At least it can be put away safely and attaches to the underside of the mouse when not in use.

The mouse feels small, but comfortable. Its curvy shape and rubber side-grips keep it less slippery than other notebook mice we’ve tested. The scroll wheel is also rubberized and textured, which we found to be pleasant.

Now for the colors: red, pink, purple, blue and black. And the patterns: blue floral, red shapes and butterflies, and red/orange/pink stripes.

Kensington Washable Keyboard -- Great layout AND washable. I'm gonna pick up a few of these for me and the family. Great idea.
